I know it do seem like that but it's because you are not use the surrounding as you are going but coming back you have seen something on the highway going which makes you seem like you are getting back faster but truely your not same distance same time unless you are speeding.

I think this is because you get soo excited that you go fast to get somewhere but coming back, you are tired form the trip and it seems to take longer.

You know that with some cities, it always feel like everyone is trying to go there when you are too. It always took me longer to go from Philly to NYC than to come back. Entering Manhattan?? Any tunnel will be a nightmare. One practical answer, as is the case with NYC, is that there are more toll booths to go in than to leave.

I think it is a mixture of the anticipation of getting where you're going, and the fact that you don't know the way...

when traveling back home, you are more relaxed and your mind anticipates every turn, making it seems as though you are already there.

i think everyone is trying to get there at the same time but people have different preferences for how long they want to stay there. ex, the beach, and we have a decent shopping mall but there's a better mall 1 hr away and some people just go shopping and that's it and other people stay in that town to go to dinner or clubbing.
