The real trick to re-dying black clothes is to use Black Rit PLUS a half box of red Rit with it,,, the red makes it come out much more uniform,, when your done soak the clothes in salt water for an hour to set the color then wash on cold to get the final salt and color out so they won't continually run when you wash them in the future.

I've re-dyed a pair of black jeans years ago with Rit. It really worked, just follow the instructions.

Rit Dye. You can get it at Walmart and Target. It's a pain in the butt. It works ok.

Yes, it's called RIT. You can get it at wal-mart usually in the laundry soap area. Just follow the directions on the bottle. If doing by one set of directions didn't work, it could be the fabric. Try the next set of directions. good luck

I have done it. Put it in the washing machine to dye it and it will work fine.

it never works for me, they end up looking grey in the faded spots , while the rest of the clothing has dark streaks, and that is for any color i have ever used.
