I know you can make up your own, and I know you can purchase campaign settings. Perhaps you know of particularly good games available in stores or online, or just good ideas you have used in the past.

On the Wizards of the Coast website they have some good adventures you can download for free and print out. Check them out, some of them are pretty good. Some of them, however, are too straightforward "hack-n-slash" for my tastes.

If you're talking about classic modules, my all-time favorite is T1, "The Village of Hommlet." It's a great combination of adventure, socialization (getting to know the people in the town), investigation (which townsfolk are actually evil cultists?), puzzle solving (what's behind the recent unrest?), exploration (where is the source of the evil influence?) and dungeon-dwelving (once they find the source, they gotta go underground and root it out.).

The original Giant Series from the old days is probably your best bet. Start with the Hill Giant Steading, then the Frost Giant, then on to the Hall of the Fire Giant King and then Descent into the Depths, Kua-Toa and then the Vault of the Drow.

Those of who began playing in the 70's still remember when these were the only modules available. And they were fantastic.

Get some copies and let your party learn to kick some Giant butt while they discover the sinister power of the Drow.

Does it get any better!?!

While the "Book of Erotic Fantasy" wouldn't be the "best" start, it can certainly make your games more interesting!

Maybe "Book of Exalted Deeds" is a better place to start....

Okay, about running your own adventure? Take your favorite movie (Lost Boys, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dungeons & Dragons) or TV show (LOST, Angel, Buffy) and use that as the basic plot outline. Then you can just change some of the names so your players can't "guess" what's coming next. There you go.

Any of the early campains are great for a new DM however u can always learn by trial and error if your friends can put up with it....lol i would try reading some of the books like Dragon Lance or any of the Forgoten realms and remeber the bigest rule in D&D and that is DM is always right and that the rules are all subject to change ....have fun

Many Many years ago while I was playing...we found that creating your own was the best. All the games we played were created by us. Yes it takes time and imagination and it gives you the chance to be a writer and creator of your own world. You can even take ideas from books you've read. Good Luck!!!

the biggest aspect you'll favor is human beings, the rule of thumb e book & dice are a lot less significant than this (you would possibly want to simulate dice & make up your own guidelines) d&d as with different RPG's by and massive are a social aspect. You did not say are you intending to be a participant or video games carry close? to commence you'd be extra efficient playing because the GM 'might want to' comprehend & a thanks to apply the guidelines.
