This sounds really weird, but it does work...get plain yogurt with active cultures. Mix about 3 tablespoons with warm water and douche with it. Do this for 3 days and you should fell 100% better. I was plagued with yeast infections for almost 20 years until a doctor advised this. I rarely have infections anymore and when I start with any symptom, I run to the grocery store. The reason this works is it brings the vagina back to it's natural ph balance. Stay away from commercial douches and always change out of a wet bathing suit as soon as possible.

Try these and wearing only white cotton underwear.

When using a nonprescription vaginal medication for a vaginal yeast infection, follow the directions on the package insert, as well as these guidelines:

Drink acidophilus milk or eat yogurt with live Lactobacillus cultures on a regular basis. Acidophilus may help correct the imbalance in vaginal bacteria that is present during a yeast infection and is thought to have some benefit in preventing vaginal yeast infections. 8
Use sanitary napkins instead of tampons while you are using nonprescription vaginal medications. Tampons can absorb the medication.
Avoid using soap when cleaning the vaginal area—rinse with water only.
If sexual intercourse is painful, avoid it. Otherwise, use a water-soluble lubricating jelly (such as K-Y Jelly) to reduce irritation.
If the genital area is swollen or painful, sitting in warm water (in a bathtub or sitz bath, not a hot tub) may help.

Report your symptoms to your health professional if:

You are not sure that you have a yeast infection.
Your self-treatment is not working after one complete course of therapy.

Take Acidophillus, stronger than yogurt with live cultures. Take garlic capsules which also helps regulate overgrowth of yeast, and boosts immune system. When my baby had jock itch which is yeast, i read to place a garlic clove and honey on the area and it worked!
