Go to Home Depot or Lowes, but a piece of METAL screen, not plastic. Cut it an inch on each side LARGER than the hole, then pull the wires from the edges of the patch piece until what's left is a piece of screen with excess wires sticking out all around a section that still looks like screen. Bend the excess wire until you can thread it through the intact holes around the torn hole in the screen, then push the wires thru and bend them over on the other side of the hole. To make sure the patch doesn't come off, thread some of the excess wire thru more holes radiating out beyond the patched place...Clear?...as mud....

Buy a spline roller. pull the old spline (screen retainer) out of the spline trough. remove the old screen. Buy new spline the same size and screening at least 4 inches larger than the opening both ways.Center the new screen over the hole and hold in place with duct tapestart in a top corner and roll the spline into the trough with the spline roller.Continue rolling the spline down the verticle
trough, across the bottom and then up the other side, while keeping tension on the screen, to meet at your starting point. You can use a large flat screwdriver to tuck the spline all the way into the corners. Then use a utility knife with a new blade to trim the excess screen. You're done.
