maybe if you were a hummingbird or some other creature.... like insects I think have heartbeats even faster than that... but I don't think a person could ever reach that.

Yes it is possible, and no your heart wont explode. A heart beat that fast can occur if you are in a state of atrial fibrilation. This is when your heart is no longer beating effeciently and the atria are beating so fast that it isn't pumping blood around the body. It's kind of like the heart is in a spasm or twichting (fibrilation) thus a heart monitor could read 330 beats/min, however they aren't effective beats.

If it is, that probably means you're having a heart attack. I think the average heart beats 60-70 times per minute. Not really sure, but all I know is you take your pulse for 6 seconds and multiply the number of beats you get by 10 to get heartbeats per minute.

Your heart would explode if it were to beat 330 times in a minute!

yes, it is possible. this is called super ventricular tachacardyia. The treatment is first a medication called adenosine. If this treatment doesn't work the next treatment is defibrillation where you are shocked. Yes, you can die from this. Usually if a person is on a medication for hypertension (high blood pressure) and stops taking this medication it can send you into SVT.
