Some people use a calendar month as a measure: if your LMP (first day of your last menstrual period) was on the 5th of January, you're 1 month pregnant on Feb 5th, 2 months on March 5 and so on.

Still others use the 28 day "lunar calendar" - every 4 weeks, you're another month pregnant. In this case, a standard 280 day pregnancy (dating from LMP to estimated delivery date) is 10 months long! A true lunar month is 29.5306 days long.

A more accurate way of telling people how far along you are - and the way your healthcare provider will probably date your pregnancy - is to use the number of weeks and not months.

Based on the calculator I used:

Your LMP was 2/16/06
You conceived around 3/1/06 [assuming 28 days in the typical cycle]
Estimated due date is 11/22/06

If you base this on calendar months, then you are about four and a half months pregnant. If you base this on lunar months, then you are almost five months.

Regardless of weeks or months -- congratulations! [I'm 31 weeks myself]

because the calendar months are longer than your cycles! a common cycle is in straight forward words 28 days, a common month is 30 or 31 days. So getting your era on the eighth of each month would propose you've a 30 or 31 day cycle. Your cycle feels like this is 27 or 28 days ... completely standard!

Your pregnancy isn't measured in months, it's measured in weeks. Try picking up a copy of "What To Expect While You're Expecting" and some other good pregnancy books. They'll help you to understand the gestational months better.

I know everyone says that pregnancy lasts 9 months, but it is better to think about it as 40 weeks. You can use a site like http://www.babycenter.com to help you figure out what week you are one and everything that is going on

Good luck!
