They sell monitor cleaning kits in stores. Basically a safe liquid that won't damage your monitor and a soft cloth.
Generally, stay away from products that contain ammonia or alcohol.

They sell alcohol free wipes that work great. STAY AWAY from rubbing alcohol or windex or stuff like that if you have a lcd monitor. Also make sure the monitor is off b4 you clean it.

If you have a CRT (large heavy ones) then any good glass cleaner. If you have an LCD, a water dampened cloth followed immediately with a dry soft lint free cloth will do.

Monster sell something called ScreenClean which does not wear away coatings. It's 20 bucks at any electronics place.

Water, and not much of that. You don't want to slop water, windex, alchohol, or anything like that into the electronics.
