I don't actually think it's their fault. They learn this stuff on talk radio and FOX NEWS so they truly believe they are right and everyone else is wacko.
Part of the problem is that they are weak minded and lack the ability to question things. The other problem is that these rightwing media types know exactly how to target and influence their prejudices. Prejudices are probably the number one reason why they can't see past anything but what they 'think' they know and believe.

Let me pose this to you since you are being intellectually dis-honest:
Why do Democrats try to divide the country by trying to use the word "Neo-Con" like the Nazis used " Jew"?
Also they can never answer a political question without attacking the Conservatives then turn around and say the right spreads Hate????
Thats more like it... When ever a liberal gets asked for their plan for American it ALWAYS starts "well Bush is wrong because....".. Talk about never answering a political question...
As for hate... Moveon.org -- I don't have to say any more... All the left does is hate.

Because it accomplishes their goals.
If the repugnant-cons can muddy an issue enough they can turn a loss into a draw - say for example a dem. wants to pass a bill calling for the removal of troops from Iraq. Well then, the first thing the 'cons do is question the dem's patriotism - accuse them of not supporting the troops or wanting to help the terrorists or some other such nonsense. Then, the dem. will have to defend his or her own patriotism rather than focusing on the legislation they were attempting to put through. Attachments & compromises will be added to the bill, the language will be wattered down, all sorts of riders will be attached...things like anti-flag burning ammendments or any one of a million stupid little pieces of various peoples pet-causes & the bill will die in commitee as they are all endlessly debated.
You have to remember that in the political arena sometimes a draw is just as acceptable as victory, because at least that way your opponant fails to achieve his goal.
Distraction is a favorite weapon of ALL politicians, liberal & conservative alike. Why? Because it works.
And that, in a nutshell, is how the beuracracy triumphs over common sense.
Stop.
Think.
Resist.

Because the word liberal generally means someone with left of center leanings-generally more compassionate about the fellow citizen than those on the right--conservatives. They use this scare the people into thinking "communism" and do a pretty good job of it even if untrue. Ever listen to Rush Limbaugh and how he can twist the truth? Conservatives are afraid the real truth about what is going on will get out so throw out flack to scare people. Did you know the U.S congress turned down an effort to raise the min.wage. It is ruled by conservatives. The great liberals of the world include Ghandi of India, Quezon of the Philippines, Disraeli of Britain and of course F.D.R. of the U.S. The freedoms you and we all enjoy were not brought IN by conservative thinkers. They would rather you be serfs and they the Lord of the Manor.

Probably for the same reason that the Democrats try to divide the country by using the word "conservative" like the Nazis used "Jew"--neither group has anything useful or meaningful to say, so they have descended into name-calling. What's even more encouraging is that "we the people" lap it up like it's something meaningful, and continue to fill DC with these useless jackasses.

Both parties are guilty for playing the hate. But I don't think liberal or conservative is an evil word. Honestly we all want the same things we just have different point of views on how to get there.

While I agree in some cases, the some people on the democratic side also spout names, too, like calling the republicans 'cons' for conservative, and other names in a hateful manner. The extremists on both sides are guilty of their own little 'war of atrition'.

Republicans have been doing that for years, getting people to vote for them on several one issue ideas. Not the party platform.
It's either no gun control, no stem cell research, no gay marriages, immigration reform, Tax cuts for the rich, They pretend that they are against big government and high spending, but the records show that they do both.
It's all lies, and all about divide and conquer. People who might not vote republican, but feel strongly on one issue, will vote for them, and bite their tongue, over the other issues. Sad but true.

there is a jack a$$ at work that thinks "liberals" are the cause of all of our evils, and "republicans" are the cure.
No one is perfect and everyone has faults, I cant stand this dude and his incessant rhetoric.
Here in michigan we are suffering a bad economy and the republican candidate for governor, said he will outline the details of his economic recovery plan after he is elected.....what kind of isht is that?
I'm also sick of this goofus at work stating that the "liberal" media twists the news around to fit a "liberal" agenda.....if that's the case, and there are so many disenfranchised "conservatives" they could buy their own media outlets, and spin them to their hearts contents......

I have seen hatred spread from both sides. I am on the liberal side and proud of it but one of the people I respect most on here is a conservitive however she is the only conservitive on this site that has earned my respect.
