I heard that if you spread gentleman's relish on it, it'll keep the deer out. Bunnies, too.

My first thought is where do you live my freezer is getting low on venison.... on the serious side put human hair in cheesecloth, tie it up then hang it around where the deer are eating.{You can usually get the hair from the hair dresser in your area.} Make sure you change the hair every few days, this will only work for a little while once the deer get use to it your problem is back. Try loud windchimes placed on sheperds hooks. About the only thing that really works is a six foot fence they can't jump... check with your local fish and game department to see if they have suggestions, they can tell you what is legal to put out as well. Since it varys from state to state you may find it is legal in your state to put out, as an example, a salt block to keep the deer away from your flowers.

We had the same problem, only it was our roses, so my husband started urinating in a urine pot and pouring it around the perimeter of the rose garden, not on the roses themselves. So far, the deer have not eaten any more of the roses. This has been more than two months so I believe this is the way to go. Also, we have put Seven Dust, which is found at local garden centers, on my other flowering plants and vegetable garden, but it is a white dust and does not look good. The deer have not touched them either. Hope this helps.

I heard of a company on MSNBC this afternoon who deals with deer eating landscaping. It was called Nature Technologies. Apparently they install a divice that transmitts a frequency that is heard by the deer but not us and a fragrance like mint and cinnamon that deer dont like but is pleasant to us. It's rather expensive, the installation is like $1400.00 and they have about a $99.00 per month maintenace fee. Apparently there were alot of famous (rich) people who swear by this product. Cant recall many, but the CEO of Ralph Lauren was a user of this, as well as the CEO of general electric

Blood Meal - it repels deer, squirrels, rabbits. You can get it at Wal Mart, Home Depot etc. Just spread it around the perimeter of the plant. They don't go near the plant.. It smells and you should wear gloves when handling it.. It is dried blood. It also has some good nutrients in it for your plants...

I live in a wooded area and have tried everything--human hair, moth balls, etc., etc., etc. If you are in a deer habitat, they are going to consider everything you plant to be the greatest delicacy available! Sorry--I don't think there is a real cure, other than fencing things off. And who wants to live in a fortress?

Just shoot the damn deer and keep the carcass in your freezer. Deer meat is very tasty if cooked properly.

I have heard spreading human hair (please don't behead anyone) around the plants will keep deer away. You can get them from barber shops. You can even purchase certain sprays from places like Home Depot.
