I'm finishing up my BS in the computer field. I don't know about other industries, but this is crazy. $52,000 in debut. Will there be a time when people just quit going?

Yes prices are outragous, especially with families just making it. or with more than one child going to college.
Eventually states will be soo strapted for cash that there will be less state funds for college, less people going to college and more people being forced to take loans.
Some will be completely shut out. If anything we should be making it more affordable to compete with others on a global scale.

The prices are totally out of control.....About to graduate in a field that will not be able to get a job in because I do not have 3-5 yrs experience in.I thought that was what school was for? I agree, students will be better off going online.....paying about as much now.

poor people already can't afford it... grants just won't cover all the expenses like they used too...
I saw a report on the news about 3 months ago that said tuition, nationwide on average has gone up 40 percent since 2000! (I guess it's just a coincidence that Bush came into office that year... hahaha)
I believe it... I have friends that are still in college and they pay much more than I did at the SAME SCHOOL just a few years after I attended...
so then who will be able to afford it? only the wealthy... must be nice to be rich when the Republicans are in office... huge tax cuts and less competition at work...

Yes it is. I don't think people will quit going. It's essential now as a diploma was back in the day.
