Your passport is valid with only 6 weeks inside the eu,so spain is fine.If you travel outside the eu however, most countries insist on a minimum of 6 months.

I'd go to the passport office and renew it as soon as possible. A British passport has to have at least six months on it. I speak from experience. I had to get an emergency passport. The guy who said you don't need a passport with easy jet is only correct if you are travelling inside of Britain.

UK ONLY ANSWER (other countries - don't know)
Your passport only has to be valid for the duration of your trip. You will be fine. Strickly speaking if you are travelling within the EU you don't even need a passport. Easy Jet, for example will let you fly using a UK drivers liecence !!
In response to "CAZ" I speak from experiance. Whilst working in Germany on a contract my passport ran out. 2 weeks later I returned to the UK using only my driving leicence. It's in the Easy Jet terms and conditions on their website. !!

I have just come back from Spain, and my step kids had an expired UK passport. I nearly died.
But Spain will let you travel on en expired passport for up to 12 months past it's expiry date.
Good luck!
