I have a Compaq and when i turn it on it says that something is wrong with the computer and i click "start normally" and then "start in same mode" but it restarts. I lost my Computer restore CD that came with the computer. Where could I buy another CD at a store?

you tap the F8 key to get to the menu for last known good configuration.
If you need the cd, you can get it from compaq, if they are not availiable, there are a couple of third party online companies that sell them, or you could just install windows xp with someone else's cd and use your code on the case

Start ur computer, After post operation please press the F8 key to open the OS choice menu. Please select the Mode as SafeMode and u can enter ur computers safemode without any loss of data. If once u got into the safemode, please search out the Lost files and reinstall it from online and then u can Restart ur system. Then u will getback ur old smart running windows XP... Try It!!!

reboot the computer and after the post tap the space bar youll get some choices on the screen
choose the one that says
last known good configuration
your computer will reboot hopefully that will help

you should be able to buy one from HP as compaq was bought by them
