I notice a lot of 12 year olds saying they are pregnant......?

why is there this trend recently and do you think this is really happening or they are just lying?

I think they are just lying... cuz I read 1 girls question saying she might b pregnant and another one after it asking how to have sex. maybe they just want to seem kool or grown up? but it doesnt make u either of those... I dunno... but it really needs to stop.

Okay, for all you think a 12 year old can't be pregnant, can be pregnant. In places other than the United States, this is very common, but otherwise kids here in the United States still do get pregnant.

Facts:Preliminary findings show that in 2003, 414,961 women aged 15–19 gave birth, a rate of 41.7 live births per 1,000 women in this age group. This figure marks a three percent decrease from the 2002 rate and a 33 percent decrease from the 1991 rate. This is a record low birth rate among U.S. teens (Hamilton et al., 2004).


The preliminary birth rate in 2003 for young teens was 0.6 births per 1,000 women aged 10–14. This is lowest birth rate within this age group since 1946. This reduction in birth rate is extremely encouraging because young teens have a higher risk of pregnancy complications. (Hamilton et al., 2004; Menacker et al., 2004; Simao, 2004).

my guess is a few of them are actually pregnant.. but most of them just want to see what the reaction from everyone else is. Too many kids today are having sex that young... but i think that much like internet use is not being monitered by parents. First of all a 12 year old should not be on a site like this one asking questions in the pregnancy and parenting category. Unfortunatly Yahoo cannot prevent this, it is the parents job. I bet many of these kids parents don't even know that Yahoo has such a site, let alone that their kids are on it. Also, what happened to sex ed in school and from parents. Half these kids don't even seem to understand where babies come from, let alone old enough to understand the responsibilty of caring for a baby. Maybe it is time we looked at our school systems and stopped trying to teach abstinence as the only method of birth control. Unfortunatly for the poor kids born to other kids, its not working.

This is a very good possibility. When I was attending Junior High School, in 8th Grade, there was a girl in the grade below me that ended up pregnant. She kept her little girl with the help of her parents and became a grandmother at the ripe old age of 29.

a lot of 12yr old girls are going through some severe hormonal changes and they feel rejected and like they have nobody to love them for them so they get this really dumb idea that having a baby (a person that will not go away and leave them, that will love them unconditionally) is the best answer to their insecurities. And obviously by being so young and stupid they are selfish as well and do not consider how much a baby will suffer by having another child as their mom!

As long as you have a period you can have a baby. I started my period at eleven. Some may be lying some may be telling the truth. I feel that alot of these girls have moms that were either teen parents themselves or somethings not right at home. Some girls just get caught up with these fast *** guys.

I think it can happen teens and there baby's just can have serious health problems.I'm 26 and my daughters was born premature and was in nicu for 3mths.most of the baby's in there were baby's from teen moms 2of which were 13 and 14 year old moms.There body's can produce baby's but there body's aren't full developed to have kids.that's what puberty is for for your body to mature so when its time your body can handle it.

I think that most are lying and trying to see if people freak out and write them crazy responses like how immature they are, what a mistake they are making, keep it, abort it...etc.

I hope they are lying... they have no idea what having a baby means... but it is true that more younger kids want to have sex and I hate this...
