To a large degree. We all are influenced by our personal interests, but his interests are so counterproductive for society (closed-minded theology, money over environment, war over peace, etc.)

Oil man huh? he invested in a couple wells back in the day & lost his ***. That makes him an oil man? He spent most of his life in small scale finance & venture capital type projects up to & including the Texas Rangers. He's not now invested in anything to do with the oil industry. Not the family, not anybody.

Besides, how does the oil industry benefit from this process? Oil prices are sky high because of the war. That's the PRICE TO THE OIL COMPANY, not the price they charge you. If prices went down, they could make more money off of you buying larger quantities at a lower price. Right now, the price of gas includes an extra 60 cents to add 10% ethenol. That's paid to outside companies. Right now, they can cut that 60 cents off, go back to straight gas & make more money. Do some research before you make accusations. Look at the details & the big picture.

If you were as intelligent as you think you are, you would know that President Bush got out of oil long, long ago, Jocko.

EDIT: Dr.Feelgood - Don't be so naive. Again, two can play the word games.

I CHALLENGE you to produce verifiable proof from a REPUTABLE source of news that President Bush has personal interest in the oil industry. You can't.

Could it be like most, They can't think creatively. I've been looking at what environmentalist have been say since 1969 about solar energy. Putting together all their writings came to the conclusion that Renewable Energy will never be directly economically viable, unless the energy that created it skyrockets AFTER installation. If it has to happen anyway one has to be creative to pay for the infrastructure. The solution has been given to both sides of the aisle. Both sides have replied with self-serving answers that only guaranty that our energy bills will skyrocket!

Why should it?
neolib Gore got his money from oil and tobacco. Clinton was a lying lawyer. Byrd a KKK grand poobah. Pelosi is an anti-union wino.
There's nothing bad about getting family money from oil or anything else. Most in Congress have oil money, why berate Bush alone?

I honestly don't think they guide his decisions at all....
Look...we all know Bush lacks a little in the public speaking department...it's just part of who he is. Doesn't make him stupid, or less of a man..just human. My point is that if you have ever seen him speak in person...which I have, or paid close attention to him on television.....he is not yanking anyone's chain. I consider myself a pretty good judge of character...and he is talking from his mind, and his heart....he's not fake. I truly believe that...and it doesn't make me a mindless sheep, or an idiot...it makes me human too.

Everything! I don't think he makes one decision that isn't about him making more money in the oil business while trying to drive Occidental Petroleum (Al Gore's family business) out of business. Bastard!

I don't think they do at all. I do think that you should maybe look into the oil holdings in your own party. This is a sad, old liberal rant, find something new to chirp about.
