two years? And good old GWB says no timetable without any negotiating with the people who made the offer. Shoot from the hip GWB as usual.

I believe it was Sunni's who made the offer. And this is another political move by the Sunni's. After they turned in Zarqarwi, they gained political seats, most importantly, Minister of Defense. I haven't seen Pres. Bush's comments on the proposal. This is the make or break time for the Iraqi government. I hope something positive comes from this. On the one hand, if Bush negotiates, he is negotiating with the terrorist and people will say they won. If he doesn't, then he isn't really trying to get the troops out. No matter what everyone is in an awkward position. Hopefully, the end result no matter what is stability in the Iraqi government. So I hope he talks to the Sunni's, even if they are pointing terrorism at us. However, this doesn't solve the problem of terrorist from other countries. Perhaps this will make the Sunni's obligated in helping to combat foreign terrorists.

GWB is extremely intelligent not to allow a timetable. Within that scenario the Shiites and the terrorists just have to lay low for two years then the US pulls out and they can do whatever they want in the country.

Bush has stated he will negotiate but this way we negotiate from a position of strength having our troops already on the ground in Iraq. There can be compromises and goals established and the US troops are there to assist the Iraqi Army and security forces in seeing that whatever negotiations occur can happen in a situation which is not advantageous to either side.

We can also see to it that the government continues to strengthen until it is fully able to support itself. This is a governent which is in its very infancy. You would not expect an infant on its third day of life to take care of itself. In this situation you cannot expect the Iraqi government to stand on its own until it has the strength to do so.

listen we just cant pull out even if we wanted to now and possibly even in 2 years , theres too much mess there, and until all things are stable in the end wede just be opening up our country for a whole mess of attacks and disasters. as much as we want them out and as much as wede like this whole nighmare to go away now , its too late now , we have to continue till the bitter end . gwb has given us no choice . you know darn well if we were to get out now a whole mess of angry ppl are comming after us full force

They wouldn't stop they just want the US forces out so they can take back the country to the way it was. Terrorist don't stop just because we pull back the troops. Nor will it stop, when we are in there.

Even if US troops leave Iraq tomorrow : it will be a civil war in Iraq, and the bloodiest one in the history.
You forgot, there is not Shiites ans Sunnites, there is Kurdish, Armenian...
It will be a huge mess.
