Ok so i've heard that goldfish have three second memory. IF they do then how do people know?

this idea of a three second memory for a gold fish is due to studies do by psycologists who specialize in memory and learning. it refers to the attention span of animals ( fish included) this is the time that a reenforment should be given to reinforce a desired behavior in a training situation for most mamals the ime is 6 to 8 seconds for maximum effect. For fish in general it is about 3 seconds.

There have been tests conducted, but nobody will know until they can tap into the brainwaves of a fish. If they only remember 3 seconds, I can imagine a funny picture. Two fish are having sex and the 3 seconds are up and they're like "Who the hell are you!"

They have about a 3-6 second short term memory. Generally after that they go about their normal business. They can be condition, however.

No. Think about it really carefully. Is it even possible? Oh and studies proved it too, I think they did a thing where the fish got food by pulling a lever. Afterwards, fish learned what to do

No, they are capable of long term memory. Anyone who has had goldfish can attest to this. They will crowd and dance in the corner of the tank that you feed them in hopes that you will give them food.
