You have been given lots of false information. you don't have your baby get any shots. certain religions and holistic doctors, even some chiropractors don't believe in immunization shots. Your child can attend a public school without these shots! Schools can not discriminate against beliefs. My brother is a Chiropractor and his son has not received his shots and does attend a public school.. there are exceptions to every rule! It was my choice to have my daughter vaccinated. And before you make any decisions do research and make an educated decision. Studies show that allergic reactions and or contaminated vaccines are the reason for certain diseases and conditions including autism. So really you have to ask yourself what is more likely? An out brake of one of these diseases or a reaction to the vaccination?? I personally feel that if I didnt get my daughter vaccinated and there was an outbrake then it is my fault, where as god for bid she did have a reaction to a vaccine it is out of my control. but this is for you as a parent to decide.

They're like any other immunization (flu shot, for example)...they protect your baby from getting measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, etc. Certain of these conditions, if your baby gets them, can actually cause death in severe cases.

If your child is in daycare, it's strongly recommended that he be immunized to avoid him getting any of these diseases. I'm not sure in all states, but in most, a child has to be fully immunized to attend public school.

A booster shot is an immunization you get years after you've had the first one. I think a lot of people get booster shots for tetanus, rubella, and I can't remember the other ones.

Immunizations have been offered for many years, but people haven't really understood the importance of them until fairly recently.

OH MY GOD!!! Why would you want you kid to get measles or mumps?? It's SO important! They can be deadly to young kids, especially since some of the early warning signs are similar to cold and flu symptoms and can be easily looked over. Besides, if your child doesn't have the shot when it's time for school... then they won't be allowed to go. And babies in the way past didn't have to get them because they hadn't been developed yet.

Some vaccines are actually an injection of the germs causing the diseases or something like that but its just a little. They do this because since only a little is injected, the body finds a way to fight it off. If the disease actually comes later, your body is already familar with the germs/infection and already knows how to kill it. They give it to the child early because if the disease comes soon as a baby, the baby's immune system is not as strong yet so its like a way to make sure there body can fight off the infection.

Yeah , it is important unless you like measles , mumps and ruebella, which in addition to being painful and unpleasant can cause death in some. Mumps is already back in our population mainly due to people thinking the vaccines are not needed.

Yes it is important. And it has been done for many many years. Young baby's have a week immune system booster shots and the others help protect them until their immune system is stronger!

These are newer things and yes they need them. Most kindergardens or preschools even won't let you have come to school without because they want to make sure they don't get sick or get others sick.
