They seem to collect and trade demographic information about us, our credit card transactions, our social security numbers, and our bank and credit account numbers.

Do they have a right to this information? Can they keep it safely? Do they use it well? Can we get that information back?

YES!!! I don't like it at all. I think there should always be an optional question that we get to answer EVERYTIME we give any personal information anywhere. It should ask something like, "do u agree that we can store your personal data even after you are no longer a customer and pass this information on to other parties...?"

Well its funn you should ask this cause besides all the basics that is already being stored and collected on each and everyone of us world wide. Has anyone really thought how easy it is for someone to collect all the info that one write here?
one can look at a name here and see every subject that they have answered or questioned. after many Q & A you can make up an excellent profile on each and every person in here and find out how they tick ROFL
Its scarey!!!! & it bothers me LOL

Yes it does irritate me. Yes they DO have a right to collect it. That's what the HIPPA Privacy Act was all about. When you are presented with a Privacy Policy document READ IT CAREFULLY. You have every right to disagree with it and demand changes.

Being on Yahoo Answers, you should realize ANYONE can view your questions and answers and contact you. So, you shouldn't be on the Internet either.

Well, it might be unethical. So long as you do not stain your name, I think you're alright.
