The two answers before me are good ones. I'm a process server, my average turnaround is 2-7 days. If you want it served as quickly as possible, private process servers will add a surcharge but will generally have somebody trying to serve your soon-to-be ex that very same day.

Good luck!!

It depends on what State you're in and the laws in that state. You can call your local family court division and they should be able to tell you WHO can serve the paper for you, a licensed detective, a sheriff, a process server or anyone you want. and then it's just a matter of how quickly they can find that person so the more info you have, where they work where they'll be exactly when... It could be done by tomorrow! Good Luck!

Yes you can serve him via newspaper. How that works is you need to put it in the paper for the area you think he lives in. Check with the sheriffs office of the court how long it need to run in Michigan. Once you have done that you take proof that you did run it to the courts and then finish the process. Here are the steps of what you need and in order. Request for decree nisi Serve papers, if children involved the are additional papers to the guardian office required but as you don't state that I won't go into that Decree nisi Court Request for decree absolute Decree absolute Divorce final within three days

It depends on how quickly your attorney puts them together and how long the Clerk of Court takes. I believe mine took two or three weeks from the time my attorney and I figured out how I wanted it to be worded and because of backlog in the Court.
