I'm a big fan of hardcore, (like Blood For Blood, for exanple) which has roots in punk rock, but sounds more metal. I'm mostly into metal, though. Of course there are numerous sub-genres in metal to be partial to, but for me it's mostly death, speed/thrash, gore/grind, and some of the more harmonious and symphonic stuff.

That depends on your tastes, personally i prefer Metal in general (heavy metal is a type of metal). I enjoy it more. However sometimes if i am feeling angry or upset Emo music is much more helpful to listen to because they all sing about depressing things in their lives or things you can relate to which is cool. And punk is.... erm.... just punk.... I dont like it much, the only punk band i like is a techno-punk band called Mindless Self Indulgence and they are just down right funny.

Really none of the above, but out of the three, I'd have to go with punk. I just have to be in a special mood to want to listen to it...a mood like "ok I'm going to kick someones @$$!!"
