I love the Golden Girls. You're going to hurt the ratings if you tell her to stop watching. Man, I had memories with the Golden Girls, me and my Grandfather used to watch it all the time. Some days me and my Momma. Let her watch the Golden Girls. It's not hurting nobody!

That is a stupid show, isn't it! They're so trashy, too!
I doubt there's anything you can do- maybe get her to put earphones on the tv, or ask her to compromise with you and not watch it ALL the time (just some of the time), or offer to help her tape/TIVO the shows so she can watch it when you're not home, or get her a small tv of her own so she can watch it in her own room, or do something like play the trumpet every time that show is on.

Aw, let her watch that, I used to like that show and I sometimes watch on Lifetime.
Can you buy another TV? Then you won't have to watch the show with her.
I would tell her to turn it off if you are trying to sleep though, she should at least be considerate.

Watch it with her,.... once or twice should do it, but start talking to the women on the show or arguing with them as if you actaully believe they can hear you & that it's not a 20 year old recording of a show

Unplug the tv. If that doesn't work, don't pay the cable bill. If that doesn't work, watch it with her and laugh at every silly thing they say. Sooner or later she will quit thinking it's entertaining because now, you like it too. Maybe she watches it just to piss you off.
