In order for a person to become President, he or she must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years of age, and have resided in the United States for at least 14 years. Once elected, the President serves a term of four years and may be re-elected only once.

It is amazing that almost no one get this right. Boy talk about failed public schools. Of course most people took this as an opportunity to defame our President. To answer your question correctly: You must be 35 years of age (not 45) You have to have been born here. That is it you don't have to be nominated by anyone and you don't have to have any other qualifications.
