Take their yearly income and divide it by 52, (for 52 weeks in a year). That gives you their weekly salary. Then divide that number by 40. (40 is considered the basic amount of hours per week for a full time job.) That should be their hourly income, or at least a gross estimate thereof.

Divide the yearly income by 52 (there are 52 weeks in a year). This number will be the weekly income. Then divide the weekly income by the hours worked per week (40 hours for full time). This would be the hourly wage. For instance, if someone made $19,000 a year:

$19,000(annual income)/52(weeks in year) = $365.38 (weekly income)

$365.38 (weekly income)/40(hours per week) = $9.13 per hr. salary

An easy estimate is to double the hourly wage and add three zeros. For example, the wage is $6 per hour -- yearly it is about $12,000. This is based on the assumption of a 40 hour week and a 50 week year. You get two weeks of vacation and holidays.

We usually read 48k, which means $48,000 annually.
Divide $48,000 by 12 months will give you $4,000 monthly.
Divide $4,000 by 4 weeks (4 weeks in a month) will give
you $1,000 a week.
Consider the person working 5 days a week, therefore,
divide $1,000 by 5 days, results in $200 a day.
Since it is by law, we have 8 hours of working time,
divide $200 by 8, will give you $25 per hour!

You could do that a couple of ways. If you make 50K a year, you could divide that by 52 weeks in a year. Then divide that by hours per week you work. If 40 that would be $24.04 per hour. Gross pay. That would include paid vacation time, sick days etc. Modify to add in Bonuses, or subtract unpaid leave...

Divide by 52 (for weeks in a year)
divide this number by 40 (for hours in a week)

If the person is lessthan full time, divide by their normal hours per week.

This is good for salary or commission jobs. Overtime is expected from just about everyone, these days. So, if you ignore it for everyone, then you are basically comparing apples to apples.

Divide it by 2080. That's 40 hrs per week for 52 weeks.

An easy shortcut is to take the thousands and cut it in half. For instance, if someone makes $40,000 per year, then they make _about_ $20 per hour.
