Will T-mobile charge me extra for roaming on top of the minutes I use, even though my prepaid calling card has toll free numbers in different European countries.

Is it better off to call from the hotels or pay phones?

I researched on T-mobile website and their international service costs $0.99 per minute from most countries vs. $0.13 using a calling card.

But I couldn't find out if they'll charge me extra if I'm not using their international service.

why don't you call T-mobile and get the rates?

Call T-moble Customer Care and ask them. 611 from your cell phone will connect you, and its free. Just tell the stupid machine that you need to speak to a representative and it'l connect you right away. I wouln't trust people here for the right answers on this, it could cost you a ton of money.

Also, your calling card number is probably a US number....so it would still count as calling the over seas. No matter what. If you call someone from europe, in europe, it costs a lot, if you call someone from the US in europe, same, and etc....no matter what it'l cost ya.
One thing you can do, if you have t-mobile, you can get your phone unlocked, (u can call and ask about that too 611) and then when you travel you can buy a cheap SIM card, that will bassicly give you rates a lot cheaper then T-mobile rates, then when you get back you just put your t-mobile sim card in, and your good to go

Dont use your tmobile cell phone, you will not be happy with your bill when you get back, believe me. Get your calling card, there are numbers of them in europe that are even less expensive than those you buy in the U.S. and then use your hotel local access phone that wont cost you for using the local access number on your card. Depending on where you are going in Europe you can make some inexpensive calls back to the U.S. If you are bringing your laptop you can also sign up for skype or inphonex and make pretty much free calls or at least calls at the rate of about 2 cents a minute, but calls to you will be free. Good luck and have a great trip.

should be 99 cents a minute if you have international roaming unlocked. You are still using your phone on foreign towers, so they will charge you.
