It's an urban legend that weather has anything to do with illness - although the flu does tend to be cyclical - you are NOT more likely to catch a cold because it is cold outside.

It really is a bummer to get the flu, at any time of the year. The flu is a virus that is always around us and the majority of people get it in the winter. People stay inside more in the winter and have contact with others more often, which makes it easier to catch the flu. I do hope you feel better soon. Drink lots of liquids and stay in bed. Hope this helps.

Colds and flu are caused by viruses that are always present in the air. In the summer you are less likely to catch flu because people keep more windows open and fresh air sweeps away the viruses coughed and sneezed out by sufferers. However, if you spend time inside a closed-in building with someone suffering from a cold or flu, whatever the time of year, then you are likely to be infected and suffer from one yourself. This is why modern buildings with sealed windows are less healthy to live and work in than than older buildings which have easily opened windows and better ventilation.

The flu virus is live at all times of the year, it only seems worse in the winter because everyone is inside away from the cold and the virus gets transferred faster.

you can get sick at anytime. It's from germs. People usually get sick less in the summer, because 1, germs dont' thrive in this kind of heat, and 2 people aren't being stuck in smaller places together as in winter since it's cold. My husband jsut got the flu..... from me. But it's cuz we kissed.

You can get sick anytime of the year. The flu is not dependent of the weather. People tend to get sick more in the winter because we are all congregated around each other more.

Hope you get over it

the "flu" is a virus. therefore you can get it all year long. the only reason that people get it more in the winter is because you spend more time indoors and are closer to other people.

The flu does not rely upon any particular temperature to be spread. It is easy to spread from one to another through lack of handwashing, etc.

You get the flu by the transmission of the virus. The transmission of contagious diseases is possible year round. Washing one's hands is vital in the prevention of all contagious/communicable diseases.
