this is a common problem! u think they arent listening when really they are they just migt not know what to say or they are letting u do all the talking. men are very simple creatures....dont confuse them lol....just tell him to try to give u his input occassionally so u know he is listening and that he cares. dont yell and scream and him for not listening and responding to u..it will work out over time i swear. goodluck

He's a good and patient listener who takes his time to understand everything you say. Leveling with him on any subject, just make sure NOT to treat him like a baby--Reason being even though he might not understand your emotions right away, he IS old enought to see what you mean if you'll explain the problem to him and make him feel like it's his fault.

Listening IS very important in any relationship and no matter what you do. It's difficult for him to say anything back because Men are not designed by nature at times to reply back right away and ready with the solution, the way you want them to.

What I'm trying to say is that talk to him *calmly* without raising your voice at him, make it as a plea for help if needed (Men are natural problem solvers and they can come up with a fast solution to any problem), and if he has a difficulty of replying right away ask him for him to give you the answer when he'll think it through. This way you'll be able to make sure that he gave it some thought and he'll be able to give the best logical answer he can possibly give to the problem / concern in question. Just try not to take it personally when he's not able reply to you right away, at times it just takes a Man anywhere from 12 to 24 (or, even 36) hours before he'll be able to say either way. They have to register your concern, emotions, feelings, and the amount of attention you require for a specific problem, in their head and then analyse, come up with the solution AND the decision of how best say it to you when the time is right. Of course, there are guys who'll be able to communicate with a little bit faster and easier.

Just be patient with your Knight in shining armor and he'll come through for you in the nick of time :)

Well, now men don't communicate much. Men are much less verbal and more about acts and doing things then just saying words.

You can avoid raising your voice, by self-control.

oh yes i can relate only to well. screaming is my favorite thing to do. only thing is he does not listen when i scream and my blood pressure rises. you need to sit down and not talk. listen only to him and then he sits and listens to you and he shuts up. its difficult cause in todays world we are all worried about being wrong. sometimes we just need to agree to disagree.
