Well, unfortunately Palestinians are NOT interested in peace since they would have to stop playing the "victimology game" - so dear to them and to their many 'friends', from the Middle East to the 'politically correct' Europe. Building a country to be proud of is much more difficult than having young people blow themselves up in the name of a false cause. One must also remember that earning a decent living is not nearly as easy as begging for a fistful of coins - usually donated by Western nations. Why don't their Arab brothers invest there rather than in the U.S., Europe, Eastern Asia, etc.? Being an optimist, I am sure things will change in the future: unfortunately one must wait at least ten to twenty centuries for that. Or maybe much longer -"so sorry"!

I agree in general with the tone of your question. The "Palestinians" have done nothing but pick at sores for sixty years. They are Bedouins; they use the "Palestinian" name to deal with Western Civilisation--Like the Navajos in Arizona. They have a homeland; it used to be called Trans-Jordan Palestine, but they changed its name to Jordan. And it has a modern government, with a King and a Parliament, and an improving economy. If your family had young people would you advise them to go to Jordan and have a full life or stay in Gaza to weep and moan ? The Bedouins got together with their cousins and made a war against Israel in 1967 and they LOST. They LOST; Get over it ! ! You don't see G W Bush solving the Mexican immigration policy by giving back Texas do you ? But Israel actually did give back the Sinai desert. Every time a bomber goes off Israel should take back some land, starting with the West Bank.
About fifty years ago The Kingston Trio had a popsong called "They're rioting in Africa......" not much has changed since then , although everything has changed in small details.

Cause they have countries like Iran and Syria that tell them what to do and if they die, oh well, its not like they are Citizens of any country (mind you that Palestine is not a country the Palestinians were part of Egypt and Jordan. And when Israel return Sinai to Egypt for peace, Egypt didn't want the Palestinians.
Even now a days Egypt put 2500 soldiers in the border between Gaza and Egypt in case Palestinians will try to run to Egypt.

who brainwashed you? Hamas of Hezbollah? Why even as Israel finally retaliates adverse to a terrorist agency that has been sending drugged up Muslim extremists to blow themselves up on college buses in Israel and launching rockets always at Israel (which they are too stupid to attempt yet get fortunate now and again with) there is this large uproar about Israeli "genocide" even as who're somewhat getting killed are militant extremest cowards. And as for genocide, its the Palestinians who've publicly observed as for that, or perhaps as they commence a conflict, and then run away like the cowards they are to conceal in the back of ladies persons and youngsters, its their own fault if some civilian casualty's take position. I truly do not have any more something yet contempt for you

Because many Palestinians and Israelis feel that more is at stake than just keeping the peace. Peace is not their highest goal. They have a strong patriotism and allegiance to their countries that is worth more to them than even their lives. This pride is the undoing of the peace in the middle east.

Ok, let me start by correcting you in that Palestine was not given to the Zionists in 1948 but rather occupied in consequent steps after the Balfour declaration in 1917. Since then the Palestinians (Muslims, Christians and Jews) have been in struggle to free their land from what was then called "Israel", yet they were always willing to accept any reasonable solution to the crisis as long as it takes into consideration their basic rights including the rights of 7 million Palestinian refugees to return to their homes in the so called "Israel", a right that is stated and ensured by the UN and international law. However, the Zionists want the whole Holy Land "Palestine" for them alone, and that's why they kept attacking Palestinians and committing massacres in them even after the 1948 war. In 1967 Israel took over the rest of Palestine (West Bank and Gaza Strip) in addition to the Sinai desert from Egypt, the Golan heights from Syria, South of Lebanon and west of Jordan.
The Palestinian resistance never stopped and will never stop until the land is freed. Unfortunately the global media is mainly owned or run by Zionists who succeeded so far in hiding the truth of what is going on in Palestine from the rest of the world.
Whatever the Palestinians do it should be understood as a resistance and fight for their just cause. How would you react to someone who would kick you out of your house and occupy it by force?! It is more of less the same thing.
Although for Palestinians any Zionist living in their land is part of the brutal occupation, they the resistance groups (led by Hamas) agreed 18 months ago not to attack Israeli civilians (this does not include Settlers living in illegal settlements in the West Bank or Gaza Strip), an agreement which Hamas respected disregarding the thousands of violations of that agreement from Israel through the past 18 months. It wasn't until 2 weeks ago when Al-Qassam Brigades decided to stop the cease-fire after the Israeli army killed a whole family while they were enjoying their time on the beach of Gaza.
Al-Qassam, along with other brigades, attacked a military point on the border of Gaza and captured an Israeli soldier from the site. Such an attacked is very justified considering the daily attacks of Israeli on Palestinian cities by tanks and air fighters, killing and injuring hundreds every month, if you are in the United States then most likely you won't receive any news about these attacks as it the media duty their not to disturb your peace with such bloody news! If you don't believe me on this you can conduct your own research on who owns and runs the American media and their political and ideological interests.
It is war, and inter-attacks on military forces from either sides should not be interfered by International law, special when the one taking action this time are the people of the right, the Palestinians.
The Palestinian resistance groups captured an Israeli soldier, and what they asked for before they release him was to release around 500 women and children prisoners from the Israeli prisons. Is this too much to ask for? And has anyone asked themselves how did those go into prison at the first instance?! Israel justifies it by saying that even the children are terrorists!!! (And by the way, according to the Israeli law, a Palestinian is considered adult from age 16, so when we talk about children here we actually talk about les than 16)
In addition to those there are more than 12,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli Jails, some of them have been there for 30+ years many have been charged with hundreds-of-years sentences, just ridiculous!
Palestinians would love to live in peace and take their kids to school and go to universities, but what would you say if you know that in average Palestinian students do not attend more than 100 days in the whole school and academic year due to the Israeli curfews, checkpoints, racist wall of separation, school demolitions and daily-basis attacks here and there. It takes them hours to get to their schools, and if half of the class manages to reach the school or university they won't be sure if the teacher or lecture would be able to make it. This should not let us forget the stated fact that statistically speaking the Palestinians are the most highly-education nation in the whole world. Yes, they are Number One; you can even check the CIA fact book.
You don't have to take my words for granted; neither do so with your local media. Dig yourself, read, investigate and research on the internet, and I'm assuring you will be able to find out who the victim and butcher are.
I don't think the brave American Rachel Corrie went to Palestine three years and got killed there by the Israeli Army for no reason. She went there because she believed in the just cause of the Palestinians and she died for that cause.
