Via Niagara Falls you should have no problem getting into Canada, just bring your passport and don't joke with the agents. However driving back into the US via Niagara Falls can be somewhat tougher. Personally there are times I've been run through the gamut by some nasty agents I've wanted to slap (NEVER give in to that urge) and than I've had some that were pleasant while doing their job.

These are my suggestions. Enjoy your trip!

* Have your ID in hand (literally).
* Should take 5 - 20 minutes depending (not including waiting on line)
* Do your best to act patient even if you're not feeling it.
* Be pleasant and professional but don't be "funny".

If you're taking the Peace Bridge, don't count on it taking less than an hour. If traffic's heavy, you could be cooling your heels for three or four hours...perhaps more.

Whether or not they hassle you depends, honestly, on how you look. Good car, or junker? Well dressed, or shorts and a tube top? And despite claims to the contrary, both sides of security practice ethnic discrimination. And for God's sake, have proper I.D.!

Probably you'll be fine. Have a nice time. COULD be, they'll pull you aside and take your car apart piece by piece.

It's just the times we live in.

i go through customs all the time! well it depends on when you are going to travel. if you travel in the morning and are able to get to the border fast, then there will be typically no wait. If you travel on the weekends, you are most likely going to get caught in a big line.

hope that helped a bit. have fun

Canadian customs are v. laid back compared to US customs. A few years back no one was even particularly interested in seeing our (uk) passports.

Coming back into the US is an entirely different matter however - expect full cavity searches! 8-)

it usually doesn't take long at all. Sometimes you wait about 45 minutes. getting into canada is really easy, they just ask a few questions and you have to show ID. getting into the U.S. takes a bit longer, and they're more careful
