Why do geeks and nice guys end up single?

chicks dig guys who mistreat them. why?

Oh, just to add here - I am fairly presentable in terms of looks, well built, very successful in my career as a senior scientist, have lots of friends, a confident outlook and a good life.

But - I can't help being nice. Also, I am not much into mindless partying or mindless small talk......is that why???

First of all, you're wrong. Geeks and nice guys DON'T end up single. There is somebody for everybody. It just takes longer.

As far as why women seem to gravitate toward obnoxious men, women themselves don't know the answer to that (I have several female friends who've told me they're attracted to a***oles and don't know why), but I have a couple of theories.

1. May be a holdover from cave-man days (aggressive men are likely to be stronger and make better protectors).
2. A lot of women don't know the difference between arrogance and confidence, and often think an arrogant man is confident.
3. Aggressive men are dangerous, and danger gets women excited.
4. Aggressive men approach women a lot more than geeky men do, so their sheer odds of finding a woman are much higher.
5. Timidity, shyness, and insecurity are turnoffs to a lot of women.

I can tell you this because I use to be geek and my husband was a geek and nice guy. Now he makes good money and but he was still a nice guy. I became a cute geek the older I got and found a guy who was in a way a lot like me. He thought I was perfect because my looks and I had lots of friends back home. What he didn't`t know was I was just like him and we hit it off great. Just keep looking for a person who is good to you not a person who you may thank is not a geek. Because geek and nice guys and girls find love too. be leave me you could see the beautiful child we made. Its all about what you are looking for. You may be looking for the wrong thing. Girls DO NOT dig guys who mistreat them. They want someone who is different from their other friends, someone who adds spice to their life. And since you "geeks and nice guys" are too shy and scared to even take a chance on a girl or act like total pansies when you are with a girl, they go with the jerks and assh*les that treat them like crap.

These assh*les are different and make girls laugh and surprise them in various ways, which is what girls want initially. But they are also jerks who cheat on and disrespect girls later on in the relationship. What I'm saying is this: to all you "geeks and nice guys," grow some balls and a spine!! Take a chance on that one girl you like. You don't have to an assh*le to have a girlfriend, but at least be different from her usual crowd.

And stop posting questions like this and playing World of Warcraft all day long, while you ceaselessly complain instead of going out there and trying. All you gotta do is know a few jokes and LISTEN to what a girl says to you.

i can't tell you why girls like guys who mistreat them. but after dating a guy who treated me like dirt for two years i find that i'd rather date a guy wh would treat me right.

Most girls ((cause i love geeks)) don't like geeks because they aren't considered cool. And the nice guys, you'd be surprised at how hard it is to find one who is single. I've had so much trouble and the ones that were single were stolen from me before i had to chance to make a move.

I have no idea. I definitely don't like guys like that. In fact...I kind of really like geeks. I don't think I've ever dated someone who wasn't a little bit geeky. Why? Because they're nice. And they're intelligent. And they're happy to have a girlfriend, so they don't mistreat her or use her. They're also more likely to care about who I am than the size of my chest, which is a plus. If girls go for guys who mistreat them...then girls need to stand up and say they're not going to take it anymore. We're worth way more than that.

Because women do not realize the good catch they missed till 3 kids later and a divorce. But then why do good looking guys go for women who are high maintenance, lousy mothers, and skip the women are are nice girls and somewhat geeks? Immaturity is what it is. Marriage she be saved till at least 30.

As a woman, when you grow up and mature, you wake up and say, "GEEZ WTH WAS I THINKING?" Problem is that after you divorce your jerk husband, he goes off and remarries another 'young' blind girl. LOL It's a neverending cycle.

It is easy to fall for someone who treats you well. A lot of women go that route and find it a little boring. They look for a relationship that is more challenging, something to keep them attached to the relationship.

There is psychological tendency for people to teach themselves to love something they worked hard to achieve. If it is difficult to "win" over the tough guy, it often feels necessary for a woman to justify working that hard.

That being said, I have a thing for intellectual types, so this "tough guy" thing doesn't apply to all women!
