a coworker suggested using a laser pen light or training him by flipping the lights on and off...anyone have any experience with training a deaf ferret to come to you by association?

You could try pounding the floor or a table, or stomping your foot on the ground and then giving him a treat when he responds. He is deaf, but he will feel the vibrations of the floor. Just hope noone lives under you. You would have to know where he's at to successfully use the laser light and the light flipping thing will not work when it's bright in the room.
