No, I do not believe in the death penalty. It would be a religious and moral reasoning behind that answer. Odds are that innocent people have definately been put to death when they were innocent. This is going back a bit, put think of the Witch hunts that killed people that were found guilty of being a witch.

Yes I do believe in the death penalty, the victim and their family have been robbed of a fruitful and productive live because someone else decided to take it. So therefor they should be willing to give up their life for the life they took. That is a major deterrent and definitely pause for thought before committing a homicide. And as far as innocent people being put on death row, yes I am sure it happens, we do not have a perfect system but how many people get away with murder and never end up on death row, and those innocents I truly feel are a very small percentage especially with the DNA testing available today

Yes I believe in the death penalty because we as taxpayers should not have to pay for these killers room and board and medical and etc. for the rest of their lives. If they were dumb enough to kill an innocent person then they should die too.
Yes I believe that sometimes innocent people have been put on death row but as the forensics in this country gets more and more technical I believe that does not happen as often and that some on death row can now prove their innocence.

Yes, I do believe in the death penalty. I would use it in any case wear the evidence is irrefutable and a death occurred. If a criminal uses a lethal weapon in a crime and someone accidentally is killed…Death. If someone was driving heavily intoxicated and kills a pedestrian…Death. If someone goes insane and kills a house full of people…skip therapy and go straight to Death. If someone beats a pregnant woman and she miscarries…Death.
Most killings are preventable, not by the victim but the killer. If you have rage problems go get therapy or you will end up dead. If you have a drinking problem don’t drive or you will end up dead. Respect life. Treat the infirm, the young, the innocent, and the frail with care. They die easily and if you cause it you should be put to death. If you draw a lethal weapon committing a crime or defending yourself someone will probably end up dead and the killer should already know that they will receive the death penalty for it.
I think the cruel part is the long delay from judgement to execution. This is torturous for the criminal and the victims and should be sped up.
I think lengthy prison sentences are costly and ineffective. No sentence should be over 5 years but it should be 5 years of grueling hard labor and regular punishment. Make it so that under no circumstance would they be willing to go back, so that they either straighten up or die trying. Their last year in could be spent learning a trade. The military can teach a high school graduate Avionics in under a year so I am sure a highly viable trade could be taught in that time as well. In addition the system could have a job placement program to prevent the cons from settling back in their old digs under the influence of the same old friends that they got in trouble with the first time.

I very strongly believe in the death penalty. It is possible that in the past, maybe an innocent person or two has been put on death row, but not anymore. With all the technology and things we have today, there are far fewer mistakes. I don't believe in the death penalty if there is any doubt what-so-ever if the person is guilty or not. But is it any better for an innocent person to sit in prison all his life?
I believe, as long as a murderer or child rapist is proven WITHOUT A DOUBT to have commited that crime, kill them all. Why should we have to pay taxes so these killers and rapists get to watch cable tv and play basketball, basically live in a damn country club? That's wrong, not the death penalty.

Do I believe in the death penalty? Yes. Plainly put, I feel that once you've been convicted and proven guilty with out a doubt of a hanouse crime, like murder, torture, and serial rape, the convicted should pay with their life. The key........ Guilty with out a doubt! I know that with the person being convicted to the death penalty, still does not bring your loved one back from the dead nor does it erase the pain and suffering that a surviving victim or a family member felt, but I feel that the convicted person should not continue to have any sort of memorie. Wether it is a happy one or a sad one. If my loved one is not here with the people who love them then they as a convited criminal shouldn't be either.
My issue with the system is that once you have been found guilty, the convicted person waits, in some cases upto 10 years to be put to death. Some never get put to death as their sentence stated, but rather die in waiting. It can be an illness or suicide that takes their lifes instead.
Do I believe that innocent people have been put to death or on death row? Yes.
In some states, minorities get sentenced then they get put on trail, if they're lucky. Some Police agencys where there is high rasicim will try and convict a person based on their ethnicity. That is a shame. In other cases the alledged victim lies and gets an innocent person concivted. Now a days with the use of DNA and a more educated law enforcement personel these types of mistakes are far less frequent. But yes, that is still too high of a frequency when it comes to dealing with an innocent person being sentenced to Death.

No, I do not believe in the Death Penalty. Yes, many innocent people have been put on death row and many have been put to death.
A life sentence is the harshest penalty that should be allowed and should only fit the crime for killing another human being.
The whole criminal justice system is a growing entity and should only be used sparingly. Drug use should not be punished. Most of the people that have violated parole are users of drugs who have been denied or failed treatment.
I believe that killing someone on death row is the easy way out. I believe they should be put in a solitary area only for people who have killed another. Doing hard time, the prisoner must live with the horrible killing that they did. This is punishment.

Of course innocent people have been put on death row, no matter how hard they plead and tell everyone that they are innocent, the evidence doesn't lean towards them and that makes them guilty. I do not believe in the death penalty, you are just killing someone who committed a serious crime but seriously, is that going to solve anything? Just adds to the death rate. I do believe in "Life in prison, 25-life" because criminals SHOULD receive some kind of harsh punishment for their crime and that way, the victim's family can receive justice and closure. The death penalty just causes more stress for the victim's family, the criminal's family and all the people who are working on the case. Its real intense.

NO, I don't believe of death penalty. I believe that people deserved a chance , not matter what. I like to think that criminals are good people who make bad choices. Beside, Who want to believe that person deserved to be dead if you made an mistake or attempt. Suppose person got the death penalty because of he killed a child by his car. Also, people accused him for killing that child because he have some grudges of that kid but that is not the point. The point is that he might make a mistake, you know? Some poeple are innocent but yet put in the death penallty for accusation. There must be million and milion of people who got killed but they are innocents (included the past)
I am christian and I remebered this phrase that is opposed to death penalty and it is " I'm against the death penalty, Look what happened to Jesus!" There are lot of corrupted people who still believe in death penalty. Put the criminals in the Long-Term Jail for all i care but get this, they will suffered MORE if they are put in the jail than the death penalty because they got this thought of staying in Jail: "My life is a waste" or "I wish i didn't do that" and they will keep thinking back of their own mistake...you know?
One more thing: IF person killed a victim, then put in death penalty but what is the point? The victim is already dead, you cannot bring him/her back. The punishment is supposed to be fair but death for the person who iled the vivtim???!!!!

i absolutely believe in the death penalty. Some crimes are just so heinous, that the person should be put to death. Yes, i do believe that innocent people are put on death row, because a lot of people don't have access to dna testing to exonerate themselves. I believe it was the state of Ohio (and i am sure i am probably wrong about the state) that had to take everyone off of death row and reinvestigate the cases of hundreds of inmates, living and dead, and found that there were lots of people that were innocent and had lost 10 to 30 years of their lives behind bars or were put to death.
