The angel that goes on the top of my Christmas Tree. When my dad was in the army he was stationed in Germany. My mom came and joined him there and taught in a school on the military base. They celebrated their first Christmas as a married couple in Germany. They bought a tree and decorations and the whole bit. They bought this angel. (Seeing how you know how old I am you KNOW this angel must be old then!!)
Well the Angel always went on our tree as I grew up. We always made a huge deal about putting her up on the tree. We always told the joke about why the angel sits on top of the tree. The bossy Angel that kept telling Santa Claus how to do everything. Finally she says to Santa, "Do you know where that tree oughta go?" And well.....he showed her. (giggles) My dad must have told us that every year. See why I'm so warped?
My mom passed away and my Dad packed up everything to move away. He gave me the angel. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have this wonderful piece. Her face is peeling....the aluminum that surrounds her dress is shredding and flaking off. She has definitely seen better days. But I can't for the life of me throw it away. That would be throwing away way too many memories. So as long as there is Christmas......there will be my angel. :)
Ok why do I have an urge to sing "Hark the Herald?"

I have this little dog made out of plastic and cotton that my mom got for my 9th b-day. It's about an inch and a half long, I named it Jessie cause she used to be my dog but she got cancer. I still carry it where ever I go for good luck. The only reason it's lucky is because I've lost it like 20 times and each time I found it. It's kind of pathetic because I told all my friends I threw it away, but I didn't.

Well...it's more like a cluster of 1 item...greeting cards that I have received for various occasions...but there's one in particular that I got for my high school graduation from my then sister's boyfriend who eventually became her husband that I will hold onto for as long as I live 'cause he passed away recently from a brain tumor.

My mom's ashes... she wanted me to sprinkle them in her native England on the Thames... I knew I would never to do, but I swore to her on her deathbed that I would do it *sigh* now they sit in a mason jar... sometimes when I go into the pantry I feel as though that jar is watching me *shivers slightly* but still it's hard for me to just pitch them down the toilet... the thought of her clogging my septic is more than I can bear!

Computer games that are left unplayed for a long time. I still have these games in the CD box since I had gotten them several years ago.
