I am not a fan of the gay world nor do I know much about it, but I suspect you would do the same things as if he was a woman. I am sure he would like you to pick him up from the airport or where ever, maybe a nice dinner at home so you guys can catch up and he can get any rest that he needs. Then maybe plan something for all your friends to together to welcome him home too. Then he can share all his stories and adventures with everyone at the same time. Make him a sign that says his name and meet him at the airport that would be cute!

If I had been without my girl for a whole year, I know hat I would not be able to get enough of her! I would rent a condo, or really nice suite somewhere, fill it with flowers, stock it with food, drinks, movies, anything we needed to not have to go any where. Then just spend the weekend enjoying her, mentally, physically, and emotionally, without any distractions.

Take a small get away trip for the weeknd to spend time together and comfort him and show him a good time, by shwoing him what he's missed since he was in Canada.

I would whisk him away to a bed and breakfast or a mountain cabin with no phone for a weekend and spend the whole time in bed.
