I went into my local Wells Fargo bank to report an unauthorized charge. They could not help me. I was told to call the 800 number. Some background: Frontier Airlines put an unauthorized charge on my checking account. Which made my account bounce....so I called. I was put on hold, transferred, disconected and discouraged by the poor service. This went on for two days. On monday, my account was charged $2.00 for calling 800 customer service. When i inquired why this charge, I was told, "if you call the 800 number for information that you can get automated instead, you will be charged." I ask who determines this charge. I was told "the computer" I ask, :"what about people like the elderly who don't use a computer or automated system?" She could not answer. Since when does a bank customer get charged a fee to talk to the bank? and since when does the local manager have no power to fix fraud.

I got the $2 charge back. I was dumbfounded how they could even try to get away with having customers pay to talk to them. WTF

It's the type of account that you have. I had a similar account with my bank. I had to pay $3.00 everytime I wanted to speak with a teller. Well, I don't like talking to bankers anyway, mostly because I've experienced the same thing as you. I've found that doing it myself online was so much better and easier. Customer Service has really gone down the tubes and Banks....I can't believe they can get away with such ridiculous charges. I place the fee to talk to a teller up there with the banks charging extra fees for not using their ATMs. Absolutely ridiculous.

Wells Fargo has had the worse cutomer service record in the banking industry for years. They will nickel and dime you every way possible.

Go to another bank.

I have no respect for the Wells Fargo Bank. They screwed the couple who wanted to buy our house, so, needless to say, they didn't buy it. If I were you, I would cut my loses and get all my money out of there before they take it all.

Wells Fargo is the devil.

If you can, leave them!

We have our home mortgage with them and would leave if we could, We've heard horror stories all around about them.
