(3(x + 12))/5 = (x + 2)
3(x + 12) = 5(x + 2)
3x + 36 = 5x + 10
-2x = -26
x = 13

If you haven't divided the first part by five then the answer is -17.
If your equation is: 3(x+12)/5=x+2 then the answer is13

3x+36=x+2
2x+34=0
2x=-34
x=-17
ck= 3(-17+12)= -15
-17+2= -15
i'm not really sure where you got that 5 from sorry
if its divided by 5 then it would be
3(x+12)/5=x+2/1 then cross multiple
3x+36=5x+10
26=2x
x=13

Multiply both sides by 5
3(x+12) = 5x + 10
3x + 36 = 5x + 10
3x - 3x + 36 - 10 = 5x - 3x - 10
36 - 10 = 5x - 3x
26 = 2x
26/2 = x
x = 13
