i am confused on how i flip my cards after i set them into their 4 piles. do i flip them up or do i flip them to the side?

how do i know when the meaning is supposed to be reversed or not? because eveytime i flip them to the front, it comes out reversed, but when i flip it to the side, it comes out normal. HELP!!!

Your relationship with your tarot deck will become very personal, so just go with what feels right.

The four piles thing you mention is not standard. So I really can't answer your question there. Most readers have the quarent shuffle the cards, they cut the cards once, and they deal them out into whatever spread they'll be using, with the Celtic Cross probably being the most commonly used.

The very best way to set up and read Tarot cards is by your own intuition/psychic abilities. You don't have to follow any set rules...you set them according to what seems best to you and read them the same way. I have remarkably accurate info this way.
However, if you don[t yet feel confident, there are a wide range of ways to set them up and read them. No one way is any better than others in my opinion. Just pick the one that works best for you.

It doesn't matter as long as you do it the same way each time. Never heard of a four pile spread though.

I agree with the last answerer. It's your deck, and it's a personal thing. Just keep practicing and try new layouts, and see what feels good to you.
