Cracking Steganography?

Question

Is there any way, (I'm sure there is) in which I could try to decrypt a file hidden in a Picture that has been encrypted before using less-significant bit substitution. In other words, I need to get out the file, then decrypt it. Is there any good software to help me out? Any good links.

Please note: I don't want to write over the encrypted file, just extract it and decode.
