All newly asked questions often get a lot of hits - because for a few minutes they are displayed as top new questions on the main page of yahoo answers. This increases the visibility of new questions. You can expect in a short time that the amount of answers will trickle down to almost zero. I love using the main page to see if anyone is asking anything interesting.

I just logged on ,from western australia--its 6.58am.And you are telling little fibs,you got 10 answers for--whats your favourite site---14 for does yahoo need better clothes,--and 5 forthe head band .you will get more for this question.--I just clicked on your avatar---welcome aboard--your a newcomer--but a smart one--you already worked out how to create your avatar--you will probably make a blog site before i do.--only so many questions and answers per day.

Do you have any idea how many people that is? It's a lot. You're bound to get some really quick responses because you are reaching a world wide audience comprised of MILLIONS of people.

Other countries besides the United States have the internet. They also happen to be in time zones. Thus this site always has people online.
