I am needing a seat for my 9 month old. I have a bouncy seat now and this is the only way I can get him to sleep at night is to put him in his bouncy, then carry him to bed when he's asleep. However, some nights this is the ONLY place he'll sleep with me on the couch. He is 9 months old and weighs about 20 lbs. If he tries to roll over, he almost can tip it over and that's what I am afraid of. I was wondering if anyone knew about another kind of seat for a baby that kind of reclined or sat back a little.

You say that you carry him to bed -- do you take him out of his seat and put him in his crib? Does he sleep all night in the crib?

If so, you might be able to gradually get him used to sleeping there to start the night. Or you could try holding and rocking him to sleep before putting him down. Another option might be to lie down in bed with him with his head propped up on a pillow, and you could move him to his crib after he's asleep if that's where he normally sleeps (or just keep him in bed with you assuming your bed is baby-safe).

How does he fall asleep in the bouncy seat? With the TV on? Music on? Lights on/off? Are you singing/reading/rocking him? If you could try to duplicate the situation in his bed, maybe he'll learn to associate that with sleep, too.

I do not think that you should let him cry it out. This is a big change for him, and it needs to be a gradual one.

Good luck!

Your baby will be fine in a crib...trust me they've been around for ages. Your 9 month old is controlling you and you need to get over it and put him in a bed not a bouncy seat.

sounds like it is your first new child... considering the undeniable fact that and that he's a boy, you haven't any longer something to fret approximately. My daughter is now 8 a million/2 months previous and merely started crawling (variety of). it rather is maximum in all probability because of the fact we carry her lots. She's my 0.33. I also have a 10 year previous boy and an 8 year previous woman. My first born (my son) started each little thing previous due. it rather is because of the fact he advance into the 1st...and spoiled...and a boy. Boys constantly start up somewhat later than women. My 8 year previous woman started crawling at 6 months. all of them have they're very own time. The "overall an prolonged time" of crawling, strolling, and so on. are overall. some do no longer start up until a year...or maybe after. nicely, returned, you haven't any longer something to fret approximately. in case you opt to velocity it up somewhat, supply him some greater "floor time" widely used and inspire him. If he gets pissed off, do no longer push it. it will come certainly. Boys are constantly somewhat later maturing with each and all the milestones. merely savour him and it will come quickly sufficient!! you would be lacking the days whilst he'd merely stay placed!! :)

With both my children they slept in their cribs, a firm mattress is the most comfortable and when I thought they might roll over I rolled up a blanket to place behind them as they slept on their sides. Or if all else fails try the infant car seat.

I have a ten month old and there really isn't a seat for that age it is time to buckle down show him whose boss and teach him to sleep in his bed. I don't mean to sound mean, but you need to teach your child to become accustom to your life not the other way around.

At 9 months old, i would suggest just laying him in bed and letting him cry it out for a few nights. He has got to learn how to put himself to sleep in a bed. (Unless this is due to acid reflux..)

Put him in bed and let him cry. A baby will not cry for too long and they will fall asleep. It may be a pain for the first week or so, but stay tough and stick to your guns. You will be glad you did!

your child will walk all over you later on inn life if you dont do something now, take that baby to bed and make him sleep in his bed, if he cries then let him. what is he going to die if he cries for a lil while, he will cry himself to sleep.dont worry mom it will not hurt him, my kids are all grown up and are fine, the same thing happened to me but then i put my foot down and said no more, i let them cry for a lil while and they were fine , it only took three days. you will be fine. try it.
