I first recognised the feeling as kicks at 16 weeks pregnant, although looking back I realise that I noticed certain movements when I was around 15 weeks pregnant. Naturally thin people such as myself generally tend to feel the baby a lot earlier than larger-framed people.
I never really felt the 'butterflies' stage. They have always felt more like definite kicks. It feels kind of similar to the feeling of poking your tongue against the inside of your cheek. It's a very unusual feeling. I'm now almost eighteen weeks, and I can feel the kicks from the outside. It's the most amazing feeling in the world.

I was 4 months and 5 days pregnant when I felt my baby kick for the fist time. It was the best feeling I've ever felt in my life so far.

That sounds about right...I was almost 5 months myself. Here's a fun and free site to get week by week updates on your pregancy. But don't freak out if it says you should be feeling something that you don't. Babies still grow at their own rate, so if the doctor says everything is going fine....it is!! Good luck and enjoy!!!
