I have lived in Texas my whole life. It IS too hot and I find myself in a bad mood often because of the heat. I still can't used to it. Other than that I love it here, It doesn't ever really get too cold during winter and it's a GREAT place to live.

The heat is a factor, as to what area you live in Texas the humidity does add to the heat index. I love it here. All you have to do is make sure the air-conditioning is working in your home and in your vehicle. Do outdoor activities early in the a.m. or after 5p.m. In the east part of Texas and close to the Gulf of Mexico the humidity is really a factor. The further west you go the drier it gets. So people yes, we can experience over 90% humidity in the dog days of summer in parts of Texas. It is not all desert and cactus.

It hits 100 quite often in a lot of places. It has hit 100 a few times in CA in the last week.

I haven't been to Texas in years, but I recently visited Arizona, where the temperatures were above 110 every day. It seems to me that everyone prefers the type of heat they're accustomed to. I am used to the humid heat of Pennsylvania (where a normal forecast might be 87, feels like 93), and found the dry heat of Arizona (where the forecast was more like 113, feels like 107) uncomfortable--like walking into a huge oven.

well...it's a one sided question. Would you rather live in Texas (where it's hot) or ...
What we need to know is the rather part...what are you compating texas to? If it is Alaska then...Yes Texas would be better to live in...If it is Florida...then probibly no, cause FL has alot of nice beaches. If it it overseas, then no...I'd rather live here in the USA (even if it is in hot temeratures like texas)...sure beats the cold in November- March here in PA...

I lived there for 10 years and loved every minute. But you are right it does get hot. But at least it's a dry hot. Here in the lovely midwest - hot is dripping wet, gotta change my clothes hot.

Is it a dry heat?
In NYC it rarely gets to a 100+ but the humidity and no wind makes everything even air conditioning humid and awful.
