I'd go for the 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 just because of the extra video memory for gaming.

I have to agree. The 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 has more raw processing power. Plus you can probably search the net for mods or download a patch to upgrade it's firmware to perform better.

Look at the Minimum Systems Requirement for your favorite games. Based upon those requirements I would compare the two above cards to see which would work best. You also should check to see what CPU and how much RAM is required, as that might be as important to you as the graphic card.

I'd also look to see if the graphics chip is soldered into the system board or if it a removable component, as you may want to upgrade in the future.

If you get three years out of it without having to upgrade, if the games become more CPU intensive all the above might not matter if laptops keep getting cheaper and games more CPU, RAM and graphics intense. Besides you may not have as much interest in games in 2-3 years.

All in all I am a frugal guy, so I'd go with the less expensive option if it works with your favorite games.

r u kidding
the 7900 is the top of the line for the series and 7300 is the lowest 1
and again i must say memory is not every thing, until now i didn't c a game that require 512MB of video memory except DOOM3 and the ones bulit on it and even in doom u r not missing any thing if u do have a 256MB not 512MB
if i was u i'll sure go for the 7900
