I DON'T THINK ITS RIGHT THAT NASCAR DOES THAT. I THINK THE MEDIA NEEDS TO QUITE SHOVING A MIC IN FRONT OF THEM AFTER SOME ONE JUST WRECKED THEM.. LET THEM COOL OFF FIRST.. SOMETIMES IT CAN BE COMPLETELY TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT

I think he should have been fined, but it was wrong that he had points taken away in the middle of the first Chase for the Championship. I think Mike Helton breathed a sigh of relief when Junior lost the championship by more than 25 points.
This happened the same year of Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction," and the networks were hypersensitive to anything that could cause them to be sanctioned by the FCC. So, NASCAR had to be hard on Dale Jr. to prove to the network that they wouldn't tolerate profanity. He didn't deserve it, though; he was just so happy to have won that he forgot to edit himself.

Here's the thing on this: If the broadcasting company accidently taps into the radio and it's out there.. HECK NO!! Nothing should happen to the teams. That is their private radio and if you're going to tap into it be prepared.
If they say it during an interview..sure give them a fine, b/c they are warned about it, and I do understand you have to keep a control on what goes over the air. Does the swearing bother me?? No, but it might someone who has their 5 year old watching it. But points.. UHMM NO!! Esp. in JR's case. It was out of pure excitement and thrill. He didn't mean any harm by it. It slipped. Like I said..sure fine him, but DO NOT TAKE AWAY POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, as for the moment in which it is out of anger. First, it's the media's job not to get a driver in the moment of rage. So if the driver is trying to avoid you b/c they are angry. Take that as a damn hint... EH??

NO! When them stupid reporters and camera men stick a mic in a drivers face after they loose a race or crash into the wall what do they think they are going to say? Something along the lines of boy it sure was fun to drive around in a circle for 3 hours to come in last, or that wall wasn't as hard as it looked, and the dents in my car will pop back out after the races is over we put them there just for looks!! It is human to be mad after loosing a race or loosing anything for that matter and when emotions are running that high you aren't going to stop and think am I going to loose points if I say what is on my mind. Besides what would a NASCAR race be without a few fights between drivers and a few bad words? Rubbin is racin!!

I agree with Nascar's sanctioning, more sports should be as cautious.
However, I hated when it happened to Jr.
I blame the person interviewing Jr for asking such a stupid question.

Well, honestly, I didn't know that that happened. I don't think you should get fined. People will be people, and Dale Jr. will be Dale Jr. (no offense). Now, I don't think it's RIGHT when people curse, but that doesn't mean you should be fined for it.

See nascar drivers are to set a example of courtesy in front of Joe Q Public.....But i dont think its right for media to shove there mics right up the drivers yang yang.....So there should be rules on what the media does in front of drivers and drivers in front of the public....Also as u can see from WEEK to WEEK....Yes tempers flare b/c of some drivers the way they drive...I DONT think that some of these drives this yr should be out on those tracks...For example there use to be a Female driver..Shawna Robinson...SHE had NOOOOO business out there with those drivers...She dont have the equipment..The sponorship...and The knowage to drive with the BIG boys..She should have stayed in Busch Group...and they should stay in that group until they win a quota of race before moving up to NASCAR
