it is located under the notebook. There is a label called Service Tag which is a 7-digit alphanumeric code. There is also an all numeric 11 or 14 digit code which transponds to the same service tag and is made for telephone re-direction.
you can use either of these when asking for support from Dell

Do you need this for support? I have a inpiron b120, and I have had to use the support.
Dell support will access your laptop via the web and they will verify your PC. They have software that will pull this information.
There is a label on the bottom that says Dell LBL. This should be the correct label.
