Which fan? The one in the heater air conditioner blower or the one(s) out under the hood in front or rear of the radiator?

In both cases, you will almost surely have to REPLACE the fan motor because the bearings are sealed and there is no way to get oil on them.

The one out under the hood will be the easiest to replace because it is easy to get to. The one for the heater and air conditioner blower could be more difficult if it is up under the dash in the car. SOME models do have it out under the hood also up on the firewall usually on the passengers side.

You can keep running it with the noise for a while but eventually it will seize up.

Most automotive fans have sealed bearings and do not have a place to lube them. It is probably worn enough, it should be replaced anyway.

It is summertime. Just replace it, the cost is minuscule compared to the damage that you might experience if it seizes or disintegrates..
