Actually when I was one I was approched for modeling. It was very good for me, because now I'm 14 and still do it. The important thing is to make sure she still has time to do normal things. But if she continues to do it into grade school, it might become a problem. When I was in sixth grade I got teased horribly becuase I was a model for Ecko red and for Rocawear. Also a lot of boys came onto me because I was a model. That's why I think she might be too young, I think you need to wait til she's old enough to know what she's risking. But if it's only a one-time thing, then let her do it. Hope I helped!

I have had friends who did this and saved the money for the child's future education. If you decide to try this, make sure it stays very part time and don't force it on your child, if she doesn't want to keep going. Try to avoid being a "stage mama", so consumed with your child's "career" that you forget that she is first of all a child. Don't ever let modeling get in the way of family life, making friends, getting an education, or other more important things. Take it as a little blessing to help your child in the future, and you can't go wrong.

I had something similiar... Except I was 13 and I went to the mall with my mom. after I just got my hair done. My mom said it was so cute but I didnt like it because I was wearing it down.. Now I appreciate it. Anyways a talent lady came up to us and she scared me because she was saying so much compliments about me like "Oh shes perfect. Shes so cute." Her eyes were literally sparkling. The next day we went for try outs and I made it. I was so happy...
But when they called to tell me I made it they also said I had to pay $2000 to take pictures of me. I was so mad I really wanted to do that.. It wasnt my dream to grow up and be a model or anything but If I get the chance Ill take. it.

A friend's daughter was approached about modeling. It turns out they were required to put out several hundred dollars to create a portfolio, but the modeling jobs never materialized. eventually the modeling agency disappeared. Beware.

My friend had this happen to her 5 year old daughter and they had her take some photo shoots and then she was put in some magazines and she had photos put in a gallery. If your daughter and you both want to do this, it would be a great idea. My friends daughter also got scholorships and a lot of money.

most are scams.on the other hand find out more about the company. if they want you to buy this and buy that. it probably is a scam. best thing is pay to put her picture in a maginzine or find an agent near beverly hills. thats your best bet. If it is then go for it

I think instead you should go to a legit agency and talk to them. Get headshots done. Your daughter sounds gorgeous! However, I was a child model and quit. It can be exhausting and make sure you and your husband want it.

be sure its a good agency. dont pay more then you think is needed. modeling can be fun but it shouldn't be the main thing. dont let her get of track..but it is fun to show of that you are modeling. gives her esteem and friends. make sure she is confident in herself. and always keep her on the right track with schooling and other things.
Thats my situation.
