you probably have your number lock on. Turn it off and it will work. It is the NUM LOCK key.

On the laptop check to make sure that the number lock light is on. Also you may have to press the blue fn key, if you have one, in order to use any keys that appear in blue and that is what i have to press the entire time I am using my number pad on the right. If that does not work then you may need a new keyboard.

If pressing Numlock doesnt work, it could be disabled in your "Bios", to access your "Bios" (Basic in-out system) when the computer is booting up it will say before windows appears "press F2 or the Del key to enter setup" press the appropriate key and go in there, then go through the options and find "enable the num lock key to "on" they all vary.

You would have to turn on the 'NUM Lk' and like my laptop which is Dell Latitude and you would have to press 'Fn' and then use the no. keys on your right hand side of the keyboard. You would have to keep the 'Fn' key pressed to have those keys to work as Num Pad.
Hope this helps.

Here is the most simple answer to your problem.
Don't use the numbers to the right side of your keyboard - try to use the numbers displayed on the second row from the top.
Another way to solve this is at the website below:
