Why do people jump all over typos?

because it's stupid to allow someone to think ignorance is acceptable. We have enough doumb people in this country as it is. I repeat what the girl said earlier: If you can't take the time to use spell check and to proof what you write, then that says a lot about you as a person. Lazy, ignorant and stupid.

In the real world of editing text, there needs to be at least two editors. The primary gets lots of them, but is unreliable as a second proofer because he/she has already read and proofed the material. The primary often reads over typos. The second editor should get the rest. In the kind of writing in this site, I find the use of slang and acronyms deplorable.

Most don't jump over typos, but definitely over poor grammar and obvious spelling errors.

Because it shows a lack of education or laziness if your question or answer is filled with major mistakes which reflects badly on the writer. Especially the spelling with a check spelling button right above the writing box.

Well, when you don't bother to check you spelling, you assume everyone else will understand what you wrote. If they don't understand, you assume they will take the time to decipher what it is you meant to say. I don't know if I can call that "rude", but it's really asking a lot from people who are here to answer your questions and hopefully help you. The least you can do is respect their time and run a spell check.

they for some reason think that they are better then them like those ppl are un educated so they gotta make fun of the way they type...its like making fun of them on nation tv...but on the internet....basiclly because people are rude and are heartless at times thats what it comes down to.

i know seriously! there was this guy earlier speaking in big words trying to sound all smart. (prolly had to look them up ina thesauraus) complaining that ppl are dumb and our grammer sux and stuff. i mean i type fast and sometimes i have errors and if im on here on IM i dont care cuz every1 knows what i mean anyways. i mean ppl need to lighten up. its NOT a biggie. find something that matters to spend ur life frusterated at.

I think it all comes down to a person's character. I mean, why ruminate? It doesn't help you, you are always anxious. Why brood? No worries I say. If the question doesn't suit you don't answer it, right? Blessings!
