What, in your opinion, is the best way to combat racism in schools, communities, societies, etc.?

This should be obvious, but please don't answer if you're racist.

Hard to know what the best way is. The only thing we can do is continue telling children how wrong it is, but then to also demonstrate that to them through our actions. I am less racist than my father, he is less racist than his father. Over time, it will go away.

Communication and understanding that we are all the same and it was only environment that gave us any differences and that is only on the surface, and being a bit critical if thats how people are judged then who is being superficial? Communication between races is extremely important, the person that said something about taking someone to dinner is on the mark, there are plenty of opportunities to to do just that. I'll give you an observation I've had through my long life that there is more interaction going on now than ever before, and it seems to be mostly between the young, and thats where my hope is. That over the course of time that these things will work out,and one thing that I feel we adults have to do is not lay the prejudices we have, our parents had on our youth, a trip to the mall last night showed me that things just may get better in the future.

Don't be a racist in your thoughts, your words or your deeds. Show by your own life that not being a racist is a good thing. Teach by example. It's the only way the teaching will really take.

If every non-racist would do just that, it would make a huge difference.

Do NOT consort with known racists. Do not interact with them. Do not listen to them or repeat ANYTHING they say, even if it's funny. Be polite when a meeting is unavoidable, but be distant in that politeness. Keep them strangers. Let them warm themselves at the fire of their own hate, NOT at the hearth of your kindness.

All involved would have to be equal in every way. I do not believe it possible in our society as we know it. Unfortunately if we all looked, acted, dressed, and were clones in every way what kind of world would it be. No reproduction, no individualism, and all the special things that make you the individual that you are would be gone. It is truly unfortunate that we can't all live in harmony and accept each others unique qualities without a racist, predigest, immoral, sexual, or any other poor undertone being involved. Because to have the world your talking about we would have to be clones, fault is always found in our differences.

you never get to control everybody's behavior - that is not an option in this world - the only person you really have control of is your own self. so, if you want the world you encounter to be happy, be happy yourself, and the world will reflect happiness upon you. If you want racism to disappear, make sure that there is no racism in yourself. if you go out of your way to demonstrate how UN-racist you are - think about it - you are still treating someone differently because of their race. treat everyone with equal kindness and do not allow your mind to make any judgement based on their appearance or race. simply put - KINDNESS - simple equal impartial unquestioning kindness - is how to end racism. special treatment - good or bad - because of race - is racism.

Thanks for the clue.

I would segregate everybody so we would quit all this interracial mixing. Hey, it worked with the Indians!

The blacks could Have the inner cities, (like they don't anyway).
Us whites could take the countryside so our necks could get redder out in the sun and we could hunt with our trailer park buddies.
Interracial families would just have to be destroyed. Sorry, no way around that!
We would only choose those areas allowed to us by Mexico who has already made a pact with the U.S. to annex us.
After we are done, Asia can buy us and mix it up any way they want.

This was hard to answer in a politically correct way even though it was obvious like you said. Peace!

i think the best way to do it is to include messages on the tv and make the people think racism is oldminded,i mean if you ask a popular actor i mean a very popular actor who everybody loves to make an scene in where he says his best friend is an islam or mexican guy and then a third person says to him...what how can you have a mexican guy as you best friend? and then he says ...why not he is a human like you and me god you are so oldminded.
you broadcast in national tv and people its gonna take the message.

Ingore racists. Don't support them, befriend them, elect them, or even talk to them.

Raise your own children the right way.

Take a stand against ANY racist. It's just as wrong for whites to dislike those of darker complexion as it is for black folks to call themselves the N word. It's not acceptable for anyone of any color to use racist terms.

Teach your own children that racism is wrong. Raise them right and maybe they'll raise their children the same way. Who knows, after a couple generations we could make a difference.

being an asss**** know's no social, or racial boundaries, either you are an asss****, or you're not, simple as that.

jumping ahead of someone on line
letting a door slam on the person walking in behind you
not letting someone out of a tight spot in traffic
not saying "thank you" and "you're welcome"
going out of your way to make someone less fortunate "miserable"
being mean to lower life forms and animals

If YOU do any of these things on purpose, you're an asss**** !
